| Bio: | I'm Jessica Queen, known in fandom circles as Queen of the Castle. I imagine most people that end up on my doorstep here will be fellow LJ refugees looking for a possible new home. For those people, you may know me better as 'jessicaqueen', which is my LJ account name. I also have a placeholder account over on GreatestJournal (also under the name 'qotc'). However, until further notice, I will be making my fandom living in the IJ circle of awesomeness. Feel free to friend me, particularly if you were on my f-list on LJ (but even if you weren't, my friending policy is 'the more the merrier'). I'll friend you back if I already know you, and I'll probably do the same if you and your journal seems interesting to me. I won't, however, friend people whose journals feature a lot of real life drama. Not my cup of tea, sorry. Having said that anyone can friend me, I feel the need to make a few qualifications. So here's a few things you should know if you're considering friending me: (1) I'm over the age of 18. I'd prefer that you be so as well, since a lot of my posts contain adult material. I don't f-lock or run background checks on the people watching my journal, but I would appreciate people taking responsibility for themselves regardless. And if you're not 18 and you've friended me, for God's sake, I would prefer to live in blissful obliviousness. (2) I'm a member of fandom. I primarily deal in Harry Potter, but I also have been known to get involved in some way in other fandoms such as Supernatural, House M.D., Star Wars, etc. In most fandoms I stick to reading fics and posting meta (and the occasional rec), but I've written quite a number of Harry Potter fanfics. Be warned, these are often of high rating and focus on themes that may be uncomfortable for some. (3) I read and write a bit of everything, but I'm a slasher at heart. That means that I'll write and discuss things to do with homosexual fictional pairings. That doesn't mean that I won't also write some het here and there, only that slash dominates my journal. I don't have a OTP, so there will be quite a number of different pairings. Often the pairings I write are rare. Some will make you go WTF? If that sounds like your kind of game, I'd love to hear from you. We rarepair slashers need to stick together, yeah? (4) I'm Australian and so abide by the pornography laws against depicting even fictional children in sexual situations, but 'underage' according to the laws relevant to my location is 16. As such, there will be some fic in which one or more of the characters are under the age of 18 (in other words, 16 or 17 years of age). For those people who fall under slightly different laws, be warned. If any of this gives you real pause, this isn't really the journal for you. We can co-exist peacefully as long as you don't kick up a stink about it. I know fandom is known for its wank, and I loven the hilarity of wank generally, but I would prefer that my journal didn't become wank headquarters, thank you very much.
